TIPS FOR ENJOYING HERSHEYPARK CHRISTMAS CANDYLANE
This past Saturday my husband, Justin, Denali and I headed to Hershey, PA! We had tickets to Hersheypark Christmas Candylane and this was the first time we’ve experienced this event at the park. It was worth the trip! We had such a blast!
Here is our tips and tricks to enjoying Christmastime time at the park!
1. SOAK IN THE HOLIDAY LIGHTS & DECOR

They have truly decked the halls! Everywhere you turn, there is lights, Christmas trees, and decorations for the holidays. We went on a clear day, and they somehow made it snow! We took about an hour of our time just to walk around and see the sights. Also, don’t forget to watch the light show NOEL, it had great music and the lights were timed perfectly!
2. STAY UNTIL CLOSE TO RIDE MAJOR COASTERS & ATTRACTIONS

Justin and I both decided if we go back next year, we would go into the park earlier. We really underestimated the crowds! We went into the park at about 4:00 pm and stayed until closing at 9:00 pm. We typically had to wait 40 to 60 minutes in line for any of the attraction, so if you’re a rollercoaster lover, stay until close.
We got in line for Hersheypark’s new ride Wildcat’s Revenge at about 8:45 pm and they still allowed us to get on and ride the coaster! It was also a shorter line because everyone was leaving the park since it closed at 9:00 pm. We noticed they let guests in line for any ride up until 9:00 pm even though that is when the park closed. So utilize that last hour to get in some of the more major rides and rollercoasters!
Side note: Download the Hersheypark App for ride times. We found that the ride times were typically accurate. Only once did we wait way longer than what was listed on the app.
3. SEE AN AERIAL VIEW OF THE LIGHTS FROM THE KISSING TOWER

We waited about 40 minutes to go up the Kissing Tower. When we got to the top, it just so happened to be perfectly timed with the light show, NOEL. It was so cool to see the trees gleaming and lighting up all different colors! This to us, is a must do!
4. SPLURGE FOR THE UNLIMITED HOT CHOCOLATE

We purchased the unlimited hot chocolate deal before we went to the park. We would highly recommend this! The hot chocolate was delicious and on a cool December evening, it hit the spot! The price for the unlimited hot chocolate was $15.49. One thing we regret, was not filling the mug immediately when we got to the park. We went on a Saturday night and lines were long for even the express hot chocolate lanes, so make sure to keep that in mind. We filled ours up three times while we were there!
5. MAKE IT AN OVERNIGHT GETAWAY

We made an overnight trip out of our time in Hershey, and that way we could bring Denali along! We stayed at the Best Western Plus Hershey. It was pet friendly and clean! Denali made herself right at home haha! It was an affordable stay and had continental breakfast in the morning, which is always a nice plus!
6. CHECK OUT HERSHEY’S CHOCOLATE WORLD

No trip to Hershey is complete until you go to Hershey’s Chocolate World and take the chocolate tour! Any time I am in the Hershey area, I make anyone I’m with stop and do this free ride. I mean, come on, you get free chocolate in the end! Nothing is sweeter than that!

Have you been to the Hersheypark Christmas Candylane? What were your thoughts? We enjoyed ourselves and all the festive lights! Our favorite rides of the evening were Candymonium and Wildcat’s Revenge. Our biggest regret was not getting to the park earlier in the day to be able to enjoy more of the rides that were open. We really underestimated how crowded the park would be! Do you have a place you go near the holidays for a tradition? We’d love to know!
