Top Spring Flower Spots in Pennsylvania

Spring is here, and flowers are starting to bud and bloom! I love this season because we get to see the world waking up from winter, with everything coming to life in a burst of color.

Here are my favorite spots to enjoy spring blooms across Pennsylvania!

Burket Farm – Tyrone, PA

Burket Farm Tulips

Burket Farm is a must-visit when tulips start popping up!

When the fields are in full bloom, you can pick your own bouquet right from the rows! Choose your favorite flowers as you go and even gathering bulbs along the way! The scenery at the farm is picturesque, and they have photo spots scattered throughout the colorful fields. It’s truly worth the trip, and the only place on my list where you can bring the blooms home to enjoy!

Be sure to follow Burket Farm on Facebook and Instagram for updates and opening dates for the season!

Longwood Gardens – Kennett Square, PA

Longwood Gardens tulips and daffodils.

Longwood Gardens, in my opinion, is the Disney World of botanical gardens. When their daffodils and tulips are in peak bloom, it is truly magical! There are rows and rows of vibrant flowers to enjoy. Also, there are so many different varieties of those early spring blooms that make it such a unique experience!

Anytime is a great time to head to Longwood Gardens, but it truly shines during the spring season! Plus, make sure to check out their multiple indoor conservatories while you are there!

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens – Pittsburgh, PA

Phipps Conservatory outdoors

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is an oasis in the city of Pittsburgh! They frequently change displays each season, keeping things fresh and new. Their orchid room is stunning in my opinion.

Since 1894, they have held a spring flower show, which is truly colorful and wonderful each year! It only lasts through almost the end of April, and it is fantastic!

During the spring, they even hold a native plant and bulb sale! Make sure you find the time to go and check it out!

The Arboretum at Penn State – University Park, PA

Tulips at the Penn State Arboretum

The H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens at the Arboretum at Penn State are lovely. I am biased as a PSU alumna, but a stroll in the arboretum after a long Central PA winter cannot be beat!

What also makes this a great stop on your PA blooms tour is the fact that it is FREE. You will have to pay parking, but there is no admission fee to enjoy the garden. It is a smaller botanic garden, but you can still spend a few hours wandering. They plant so many fantastic flowers to bloom during the spring!

After enjoying all the bright and pastel colors, head across the street to the Berkey Creamery and enjoy some delicious ice cream. My personal favorite flavors are Bittersweet Mint and Alumni Swirl!

All year round, they also hold fantastic events and educational programs. Visit their website to register!

Do you have a favorite spot to see spring flowers blooming? I’d love to know and maybe check it out! Make sure to share it in the comments.
