Our first heat wave of the season arrives this week

Happy Sunday! I hope you have been enjoying this last weekend in June. We have a heat wave on the way this coming week. Not only will it be hot, but it will be humid too. This will make it feel even more uncomfortable. Please make sure to hydrate with water this week, and limit time outside during the hottest part of the day. Make sure your family and pets have a way to stay cool too!

Today we will have temperatures in the upper 70s. We will have more clouds compared to sunshine with a shower or storm around.

Monday morning we will be dealing with patchy fog and a few clouds. Temperatures Monday morning will be in the lower to mid 60s. Wind will be from the east between 3-5 mph.

Monday afternoon temperatures will be in the mid 80s. This is seasonable for this time of the year. Winds will be light from the southeast. Monday afternoon we will have clouds and sunshine. A shower or storm once again cannot be ruled out.

Monday night temperatures will be in the upper 60s. We will have a partly cloudy sky. Winds will be light from the south. Monday night, we will also have the full moon of June. It is known as the Strawberry Moon and will be at its peak at 7:56 pm EDT. We will still have daylight, but once the sunsets, we should have a nice view of it.

Tuesday there could be a few showers or a storm around early, then we will have clouds and sunshine. High temperatures on Tuesday will be in the lower 90s. This could be the start of the heat wave. To officially be considered a heat wave, we need 3 days consecutively at 90 degrees or higher. Winds will be from the southwest between 5-10 mph. Tuesday night temperatures will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Wednesday will be hazy, hot, and humid. We will have a mostly sunny sky. Temperatures will reach the mid 90s, and dew points will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. This will make it feel like air you can wear. Winds will be from the west between five to ten mph. Wednesday our record high temperatures was 94­­­ degrees back in 1968. We do have the opportunity to break that record. Wednesday night temperatures will be in the lower 70s.

Thursday will be similar to Wednesday. We will once again be hazy, hot, and humid. High temperatures will soar into the mid to upper 90s. With the humidity it will be sticky. Our record temperature to beat on Thursday is 97 degrees set back in 1966. Thursday night temperatures will be in the lower ot mid 70s.

Friday we will have a mix of clouds and sunshine. High temperatures will be in the mid 90s. Winds will be from the west between five to ten mph. Friday we could see a few showers and storms fire up in the afternoon hours. Once again, it will be hot and humid. Friday night temperatures will be in the 70s.

Saturday for Independence Day, we will still be hot and humid. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Winds will be form the west between five to ten mph. Saturday we will have a partly cloudy sky with PM scattered showers and storms. Saturday night temperatures will be in the upper 60s. There could be some natural fireworks along with the ones that are set off.

Sunday high temperatures will be more seasonable. We will have high temperatures in the mid 80s. Winds will be from the west between five to ten mph. Sunday we will have a partly sunny day. A pop up shower or storm is possible in the afternoon hours. Sunday night temperatures will be in the 60s.

Monday we will have temperatures in the mid 80s. There will be scattered showers and storms around.
